A story for Mama Dorcus Children Centre
A Vision of Hope and Transformation
Mama Dorcus Children Centre was founded in 2021 by Rebecca & Rita, a passionate educator, humanitarian, and community advocate. Having grown up in a marginalized community, Rebecca experienced firsthand the challenges that many children, especially girls, face—poverty, harmful cultural practices like Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), early marriages, and lack of access to education. Despite these obstacles, she defied the odds, walking 18 kilometers daily to school, determined to pursue her dreams.
Her journey shaped her deep commitment to changing the lives of vulnerable children, ensuring that no child is denied an education or a safe childhood due to circumstances beyond their control. With this vision in her heart, she established Mama Dorcus Children Centre, a sanctuary where hope is restored, dreams are nurtured, and lives are transformed.
